Vacation Part One, Montana!

Rich gets home at 5PM on Tuesday July 1st and being the good wife I am ;) the car is all loaded and we head out at 5:30 PM. We drive…and drive…and drive some more. After 22 hours (of straight driving) we reach our first destination. Rich’s dad’s home. “Papa” was surprised to see us…we got there on his actual birthday day!

All the pictures I have of Papa's have my kids in them…so we’ll have to make do with one of Megan…but it doesn’t show her face. :o)
We spent the 4th at Rich’s brother's house and had such fun. Just thinking about it makes me miss them. Heather (my sil) is such a great mom, and Owen is a doll…he’s really smart too. Eric was a fun as ever and was thoroughly sick of Sarah by the time we left…she would NOT leave him alone. LOL Almost every thing she said started with “Uncle Eric!” (Sarah talking to Uncle Eric)

Here is a picture of a can they blew up with a fire cracker. I guess you never can grow the boy out of them. :o) Sarah was highly impressed by the way.

Eric and Rich trying to light a punk.

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone (old friends and family) and Papa’s 60th birthday party was great. The kids loved the extra freedom a small town afforded them.

Before I Kick the Bucket

Yep, two posts in one day. I was visiting a favorite blog and thought I’d join in the fun!

I wondered if I should start my list from when I was a child and list all the things I wanted to do and have done…or if I should do my list from today and everything I haven’t done but still want to.

So here is my bucket list! Things I haven’t done but want to before I “Kick the Bucket”

1. Visit Europe
2. Renew my wedding vows and have the “hem hems” to walk down the aisle with Abba’s I do I do I do I do :o)
3. Get a tummy tuck
4. Go deep sea fishing
5. Pick wild blackberries again
6. Get rid of the T.V. (kids and DH want to keep it)
7. Knit a sweater
8. I want to read the entire dictionary. (I don’t know why)
9. Read a Shakespeare play. (I never can get through one)
10. Write a craft book
11. Take singing lessons
12. Visit all the Starbucks
13. End my days living on the Oregon coast

Proverbs 23:7 (New King James Version)
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Vacation!

This might be my last post for a couple weeks. We are going on vacation! When we get back there will be one week before school starts for the girls. Yep, it’s early…they start on July 21st. So I might not have time to write before they are in school. There will be so much to do when we get back.

Here are some photos of where we’ll be going.

Frenchtown, Mt. That’s the high school my husband went to.
Moscow, Id…actually we’ll be in the mountains somewhere around there. I swiped the photo from here.
Then we are onto Lacey, Wa.
After that we are going to Portland, Or. (I kind of grew up here)
While we are in Portland we will be visiting Cannon Beach…Rich and I spent the first night of our honeymoon there! (My favorite place to go)
We will also go out looking for this! (My husband really wants to do this...he is so into Geocaching)

Fresh Squeezed, Fresh Etsy Items!

I just love this fabric I found yesterday at my quilt shop. It’s Fresh Squeezed line of fabric by moda. I bought enough to make the apron, and luckily had enough left to make this summer handbag. Both items can be found in my Etsy shop.

New Holiday Etsy Shop!

I did it, I opened my new etsy shop! It will be for all things Christmas…and a few other holidays thrown in. I have a bunch of items to add but I think I’ll wait until I get back from vacation. Right now I have some holiday aprons listed. I’ll be listing stockings, and tree skirts soon, but it may not be until I get back from vwacation. Maybe even a few ornaments!
WhimsyFun and I are doing a Christmas blog together. You can go to it by clicking on the Handmade Holidays button at the top. We’ll have all sorts of tips and fun things for you to use! Please stop by and check it out.

Tucson Monsoon Season Has Started!

June 15th is the “official” start of the monsoon season, any rain that falls after that date gets counted as monsoon rain. So 11 days later we actually got a monsoon storm. I have a video of it. This was just the beginning…so there wasn’t much rain, lightening, or thunder yet. I’m sorry it’s so shaky; I had two little girls hanging on my arms.

You can also see the video here!

It started at about 2:30 with the clouds, thunder, and lightening, the rain started at about 2:45, then it stopped from 3:30 to 4. It’s raining again as I write this. I hope we get lots and lots of rain this year.
