Distorted Body Image
I think lots of people have a distorted body image...especially over weight people. When I was fat, I knew I was fat...I just didn't know HOW fat I was. My body image was distorted.
Even though I lost 70+ pounds I still had a distorted body image. When I looked in the mirror I saw the person in the picture above. That's how I felt and how I was sure I looked. I kept trying to lose weight because that's what I saw. Then I got sick...really sick with a horrible virus. I gained 17 pounds in one week. I felt fat and looked bloated...I saw the weight pile on and there was nothing I could do about it...I literally saw myself getting fat. IT WAS HORRIBLE...but it made me see the real me...so I guess it's a good thing. (On a side note. I went to the doctor because I was so freaked out about the weight gain and they found a lump on my thyroid...
I'll post more about that later)
I'm no longer trying to lose weight. I have a few more wrinkles than I had 70 pounds ago...but I'm thin and now I know it. When I look in the mirror I see the person above...I'm not fat anymore. Thank you Lord, for allowing me to get sick so I could get better.

I have been struggling with weight for years and you are so right. When you are large you know it to a certain extent..but you say I am not THAT large. I find pictures to be a big help. Wishing you a great Memorial Day.
